Rescuing animals from abuse and neglect. We then provide life-changing out-reach teaching programs.  Animals rescued are now our “co-teachers” helping to heal children, veterans and the elderly

Rescuing small numbers of chickens and goats from abusive situations.  Farm animals and senior dogs are brought into schools to teach about nature, the care of each other, core resilience, kindness and compassion. Current research shows a direct link to the lack of nature and animals as a source of ADD and ADHD.  Children are not experiencing enough time in the natural world or with animals.

Why are we called Mother Bear?

Our intention is to protect and honor the natural world and each other, like the way a mother bear protects her cubs.  How we treat the least among us registers in our psyches, nervous systems, and collective energy field. When a person makes a choice to protect and honor the sacredness of life within themselves, others, and animals, they re-remember their inherent worth and intrinsic, natural inter-connections.  As we grow in our ecological and self-awareness, we will be called to be mother bears to those who cannot protect themselves.

“Care for our future generations and the larger narrative is part of the maturity of consciousness, we are ALL parents.  A common anthropological characteristic of all advance mammalian species who survive and thrive is the fierce behavior on the part of an adult female of the species when she senses a threat to the cubs. Our complacency about the immense suffering is a sickness. Moral outrage is not born of anger…it is born of Love.”

Marianne Williamson lecture “The Art of Aligning Body and Soul”

At Mother Bear Sanctuary we believe all people have a “Mother Bear” within them waiting to be accessed to protect the sacred within themselves and around them.

Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair.
